Huge Agave celsii removed from glasshouse...
The glasshouse is where Sheila grows her succulents. Many visitors to the garden have commented on the huge succulent growing in the border of the glasshouse. Well the succulent in question was Agave celsii which actually turned out to be a bit of a "thug" and had completely outgrown its alloted space. We ran the risk that it would throw up a flower spike and require us to remove one of the panes of glass in the roof. So reluctantly, we decided it was time for it to go, enabling us to return the border to one of a collection of succulents. When we mentioned our plans to visitors this year they didn't really seem to believe us...
